Porter the Bobcat

I am totally behind on this Sorry!!!! The other night, we went to the Blue and Gold banquet for scouts. It was a chinese theme so we all learned what animal we are--I was born in the year of the dog. What that means--I have no idea. Maybe if I did, in some way, it would better my life? Probably not. Porter received his Bobcat (no thanks to me) He is such a handsome little Scout! Also the other night--Sunday night, the girls had New Beginnings (as opposed to Old Endings) which was very nice. Jess was to sing a solo, but she has this nasty cough that she can't get rid of. Instead of just not doing it, she got up and poetically read the words to the song :) then she bore her testimony. My girls are great! I am so proud of all the kids and don't know what I ever did to deserve them. Heavenly Father must love me a ton!!!

.....to grandmother's house we go

Dave took the kids up to Huntsville to stay over night Friday night. They slept all night in the igloo! Sat morn Matt had to work so when he got off, we drove up to grandma's. Huntsville got a grant to improve the ice skating rink that they have in the park every year and it is awesome!!!!!

It is huge and they put a set of stadium lights in so you can skate at night. It is the cutest ice rink I've ever seen. I took Porter, Heber, Jack and their cousins Nick and Preston. I put my skates on and as I was trying to balance while 'walking' out on the ice, Jack informed me that I looked like a stork on skates. Kids will always tell you the truth and make you feel so good about yourself! He told me that if I didn't want to look like I was so bad, that I should just go and help Heber skate. I took his advice. Thanks Jack!!!!

No 'kid'ding!! (totally cheesey I know but I couldn't resist)

This all happened yesterday (either I'm a slacker, or I'm slightly busy) anyway, just a normal day filled with the usual duties. After school, we were all just hangin out in the kitchen watching Jess pick out her clothes for this 70's roller skating party she was going to. Brandon (not her boy friend--her mom doesn't think she has one :)) was up from college to take her. By the way Brandon, I think you're awesome! Jack came running up to the sliding glass door yelling. We went over to see and he was holding the cutest little baby goat! Suprise! We wondered a few days ago if we were going to have any little goats, but pigmy goats always look pregnant to me so we didn't think much of it. It is sooooo cute! Nancy Drew went out to investigate and found another one! We were so excited--it's the little things!

Matt had a bball game that I totally missed! NMF Matt tried to make me feel better by saying that he didn't play very well anyway. The kids went with Dave up to Huntsville to sleep at grandmas. They called me last night and told me that they were sleeping in the igloo. They had a TV in there and everything! I guess we'll see if they made it out there all night!

Building Character

Late start and early out--why?????? Today we just babysat, cleaned (tried) and cooked (somewhat). Matt had a basketball game against WX. They barely lost by one point!!! I hate those games! Then off to Jack's game. He had a few points and blocks but they also lost. But instead of winning, they 'built character'. Tough--we'll get em next week!!! Even though they didn't win, they are still such good-lookin, nice boys and that is a bigger win than anything else!!!

Yum Yum

For FHE last night Matt gave a wonderful lesson on endurance. He told the story of when Nephi broke his bow and although everyone else was complaining, Nephi never did and trusted that the Lord would bless them. He'll be an awesome missionary! Jack then added his testimony. Porter conducted. Dave took the boys to the gym to play bball then we baked and decorated Valentine cookies.

On my way!!!! (to where?)

I am a model!!!!! It's something that I have always wanted to do, and checked into it when I was 17, but didn't have the personality for it then. I thought it was too late because I'm such an old woman now--but it's not! I am modeling in a fasion show for Dillards in SLC in April. I'm doing the runway thing and am totally nervous!!! Then just the other day, I met with someone at McCarty's in SL who booked me as a model and wants me to be in her book that she is writing. So my first photo shoot is in 2 weeks! I am so excited! It's perfect because I won't be working all the time, I'll work for a few hours here and there and make some pretty dang good money!!
Thank you soooooo much Doug for sacrificing your Sat morning to take all the photos! I love you!!!!

Snow Way!!!!

It is still snowing!!! We weren't even able to go to Stake Conference today. I woke up this morning and the south window in my room was totally covered in snow! Crazy. The kids have been enjoying it, and even though it is the Sabbath, they are having fun spending time together. Do you like my justification? Jess got Eli (marshmallow man) all ready to play outside. It took her about an hour to find all his stuff (or whatever would work--you'll see what I mean:)), after spending about a half an hour putting it all on him, he played outside for about 5 min! She was so sweet to do that for him. JESS, porter, and jack (uppercase tells who did most) created Wanita the snow goddess in the frontyard for all to see--so many people drive down our road! She is beautiful!!!
