Spring Break---Day 5

Dave had the kids all day Monday and took them to the Cheese Factory in Logan. Heber loved the squeeky cheese. He also took them to Willow Park to see the animals and then to the ice cream factory. Jack liked looking at the junior fat boys.

Spring Break---Day 4

Easter Sunday. We had a great day. Went to church then drove up to Grandma and Grandpa Clawson's for dinner. It was sooooooo good! Doug took some pics of us all--I can't wait to see them!

CQD: Brooke was complaining about the ounce of fat she found in front of her arm pit. I said Brookie, that is healthy fat. She said so that is where all of the carrots and celery I eat go?
(These are mainly for Stacie's benefit because she can relate! I love you stace!!!!)

Spring Break---Day 3

Dave brought the kids home Saturday morning and I took them to the Easter Egg hunt in Farmington at my sister's house. I told the kids to grab their baskets and get in the car. Brooke ran to the shed and came out with a 5 gallon bucket. It was so fun getting together with my bro and sis (except Stace couldn't come--hopefully next year!)

Spring Break---Day 2

The kids slept over at Dave's Thursday night and Friday he took them to the Hill Air Force base museum. Everyone but Jess (she was dating as usual!)

Spring Break---Day 1

The kids had the day off Thurs so I took them to McDonalds to eat and play. We went to the Bird Refuge visitor center because Matt has never been. I would recommend that if you haven't been. My kids love it, it has a bunch of neat displays of birds of our area. It also has a trail that is 1/2 mile through the cattails and water--my kids love it. We did some model shots out there (well, Brooke and I). Then we drove out to the actual Refuge. There were tons of Tundra Swan!

Go Matt!!!!!

Matt had a Lacrosse game last Tues (i am a little behind). They played Pokey and lost but Matt scored 2 goals! That's my boy!!!!!!

FYI: At this moment, Brooke is watching Charlie's Angels (the good old tv show) I was Kelly:)

Happy St. Patty's day!!!!!!

This morning I made green pancakes (I usually make green eggs too, but this day kinda snuck up on me and I wasn't totally prepared. Seems like my life is like that a lot lately--i wonder why?) I have decided to add a funny quote of the day since it is an everyday occurance in our home! Last night I made some salt dough and I told the kids to think of a scripture story that they liked and they could make a figure out of the dough, I would cook it, then we would paint them for FHE. They were all thinking about who they were going to make and Heber said "I want to make Nephi--texting" then he changed his mind and wanted to make Lehi's TV. Funny that he can't even imagine that someone had to live without those things!

Also Brooklyn is sportin around a new do. I cut it on Sat. You'll have to tell me (or her) how you like it cuz she's not sure. The first thing she said after I cut it was "It makes my teeth look too big!" She's crazy. That little stinker went and erased all the photo's I took of her haircut so you can't even see it!!!!!

Clawson Quote of the Day (from now on known as CQD): Jess was talking about Mardi Gras wishing it was a holiday. Brooke said "Who's that? Tim McGraw's sister?"

Mom n Matt day

Dave took the younger kids to SL today. They went inside the capital building. They said that the elevators that you can see through were fun to ride but Jack said that they smelled like 'llama turds'. They also went to the Joseph Smith memorial building and had a delicious grilled cheese and bacon sandwich. They had a tour through the beehive house which was Brigham Young's house. Jess had been at a leadership conference over night, she came home to get ready for her date--Prom night. Of course they had to go on an all day date. So Matt and I decided to go to the Golden Spike. We walked around checkin everything out then we drove out to the Spiral Jetty. That was so cool! I had no service out there so when I got back, it was just in time to go to the Prom thing where they walk across the stage and show off their dresses. Jess looked beautiful as usual--she did her hair herself cuz her slacker mother was out spending time with her brother. Sorry Jess!

The Ring of the Month

You know how people belong to the 'Book of the Month Club' or 'Dessert of the Month'? I have decided to start my own 'Ring of the Month Club' and so far I am the only member--imagine that!!!! It started with the Christmas gift I got from my good friends Paula and Heidi Hensley. They were so sweet and gave me this beautiful blue ring for Christmas. They bought it at 'Where Else' in Brigham and I thought it was absolutely beautiful (you know how much i love jewelry--the costume kind--I am not an expensive jewelry girl. Why buy 1 piece for 50.00 when you can get a ton of fun stuff for the same amount. It goes out of style so fast anyway!). In Jan. I thought I'd go into the cute little store and check things out--it has so many cute things in there! But of course my fav: the rings.

January-----The black and white snowflake

February----Pink and purple (for valentines day--not intentionally)

March-------Green pinwheel (for st. patricks day--intentionally)

I can't wait till April!!!!!!

Lacrosse season

Not too much going on lately (compared to bball season anyway!). Yesterday I went out to lunch with my good friend Jan Burger--I just love her! It was fun to just sit and talk about everything, after 2 1/2 hours, we figured we' better stop talking! Then (yes i did spend time with the kids that evening) it was girls night out with some of the girls I went to San Fran with: Heather, Kim and Bridgette. It is always fun to do things with them. I always have a good laugh!
Yes Lacrosse has begun. First game tonight against Clearfield I think. It is such a fun game to watch! Very violent, but fun. I need to get Matt some extra padding because he is so tall, there is a lot of room between his chest pads to his waist. He loves Lacrosse and is very good at it. He has a wonderful coach who contributes a great deal to Matt's love of the game. A good coach makes a huge difference!
I went into the front room to get the kids ready for Matt's game and I found Porter and Eli curled up on the couch. There is nothing sweeter!!!!

Let's go fly a kite

It was a brautiful day!!!! After church, the kids were all outside enjoying the pre-spring weather. I love the different signs of spring! Some of my favorites:

  • the smell of thawing dirt--I love it!

  • My tulips are poking up.

  • The ducks are wandering around the yard and quacking all night!

Spring is absolutely my favorite!!!!!!

Jack and Porter flew kites (even though they were cheap--they flew!)

Clawson Kids Update

Jess: She is soooo excited to move to Logan. She just spent the night in the apt she will be living in with Alaina, Hil and an unknown. She received a scholarship to USU--I am so proud of her! She will be working all summer at Great Harvest so go in and say Hi if you're ever up in Logan. She has 3 college classes this tri--so she's going to finish off high school relaxing. She wishes! She also just bought her own car to go up to school in.

Matt: He is done with basketball. They had an ok season--but now he is all ready for lacrosse. He got his first car and was totally excited!!! It's fun to see him so excited about it. He is such a good boy. He's getting it all ready for all the hot dates he's going to go on!

Brooke: She is as social as ever and to help her out with that, her dad bought her a phone!!!! yay!!! now she is the texting queen! She is almost as bad as me! who is almost as bad as Jess!

She is tall and beautiful just like her sis. Although she did pass Jess up!

Jack: He is doing really well in Bball. His team struggled a little toward the end of the season, but they are a great group of boys--i am excited to see what they do when they get to high school! He is still a little ladies man and tells me about all the girls who like him!

Porter: He also is done with bball--which he is glad about because his coach put his 2nd grade team in a 3rd grade league. So not only did they lose every game, they got killed! He had some awesome blocks though!!!!

Heber: He will be starting school next year and some days he is excited to go, and others, he never wants to. He and Eli have so much fun together. Heber is starting to stick up for himself with Eli so it has been driving Eli crazy. A lot of screaming going on all day!

Eli is just getting bigger and bigger. He had a cold last week, but is over it. He loves to go outside and play with his brothers and of course when the weekend comes he can't wait to go to 'Daddy bacon eggs'!
